Following the financial crisis in 2008, the quality of outsourced relationships in the institutional investment arena were tested.
There were many lessons to be learned on how service providers might better anticipate changing client demands in an extremely dynamic environment. “Trust” is a key ingredient in retaining a client relationship and it requires continuous attention and monitoring. Based on leading academic research and empirical evidence in working with its own clients in selecting and evaluating outsourced service providers for institutional investors, Avida International has developed a proprietary tool to monitor and actively manage provider relationships.

For each of these factors Avida International has developed a bespoke approach to objectively measure in time and compare against peers. This involved input from investment and governance professionals as well as from experts in the area of behavioural finance and psychology. Our AIGS© is consistent with tPR's recently developed scorecard.

Pension fund executives are responsible for getting the best out of their service providers. The AIGS© tool kit provides you with the tools to structurally monitor the quality of your provider relationships in a disciplined manner, as often as you wish. Since the tooling is based on the Avida International database, you will also benefit from the availability of peer group comparative information.

Service providers require continuous monitoring in order to proactively identify improvement opportunities.
The Avida International Investment Governance Scoreland (AIGS©) tool has been developed to help pension funds check the service provided to them. It uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative criteria to score the absolute performance of your provider(s) under a number of key headings. In addition, you enjoy the additional benefit of being able to ascertain where your provider(s) rank against industry peers thanks to the quality of Avida International's extensive database.
Our clients are often surprised and always delighted at the insights the AIGS© continually generates. Our survey methodology, managed by very experienced industry former practitioners, regularly helps bridge the communication gap that can sometimes develop between client and service provider. This is never more valuable than when it helps identify new areas for both parties to work together for their mutual benefit.
For each category in the scorecard we provide a ranking against peers, in order to indicate relative gaps and areas for improvement.
The Avida International advisers have a deep understanding of pension fund demands and are available to support pension fund executives to improve providers' effectiveness.
