Paul Boerboom

Founding Partner, Avida International

Paul Boerboom founded Avida International in 2006 and has been advising institutional investors and their advisers throughout Europe ever since. Typical themes are client retention, commercial development, partnering and outsourcing in various (complex) investment areas such as investment consulting, fiduciary management and illiquid investments.

Previously, Paul performed a number of senior roles at Royal Dutch Shell and has lived in Latin America and various European countries. During this time he was part of the Supervisory Committee of various joint ventures and led complex M&A projects and contractual negotiations in the renewable energy, gas and power sectors. He also acted as Head of Investment Strategy and portfolio manager private equity for Shell Pensions.

Sally Bridgeland

Senior Adviser

Sally Bridgeland is an actuary with pensions and investment experience as an adviser, trustee and non executive director. 

Sally is a non-executive director at insurer Royal London, at Impax Asset Management and Local Pensions Partnership Limited, where she chairs its FCA regulated investment company.

Until recently Sally was a pension trustee for both NEST Corporation and the Lloyds Bank pension funds, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of the BP Pension Scheme 2007-14. She spent 20 years with Aon as a consultant and in research and innovation.

Simone Lavelle

Associate Partner

Simone Lavelle has a strong pensions industry background having worked with some of its leading players in her career. Her early career spanned risk management and control, which provided a strong technical and control foundation for her work in the pensions industry.

She joined Avida in 2014 where she is involved in projects for organisational change and client retention programmes. Prior to Avida she was Director at Law Debenture in the UK, where she co-managed the Independent Trustees Team as well as acting as an Independent Trustee. Prior to that she was COO/CFO at Cardano UK, responsible for shaping the financial, operational and support functions as well as risk governance. Simone started her career at ING, progressing to Rabobank International where she was Executive Director and Head of Risk Control.
