Dorothee Franzen, Partner, Head Germany

Dorothee Franzen is an international pensions expert and financial economist with two decades of sound experience in commercial and academic research both in the UK and in Germany. Her work is focused on pension investment and risk management as well as pension governance and regulation. She is Visiting Research Associate at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford. Dorothee has published various papers and articles on pension issues, and was Director of the ‘Allianz-Oxford Pensions Conference’, which she initiated.

Previously, Dorothee was Director at Allianz Global Investors where she headed Pension Research. She was responsible for the international pension studies and managed a broad research programme. Prior to joining Allianz Group in 2001, Dorothee held senior roles at HypoVereinsbank in institutional sales and economic research.

Dorothee has a PhD in Economic Geography from the University of Oxford, supervised by Professor Gordon L. Clark, and a ‘Diplom’ in Economics from the University of Munich.
